Soft light hammers

Heavy and /or hard felt modern hammers cannot produce the Chickering piano sound we are looking for…period…it doesn’t work. We use a very soft, low density version of Weikert Special felt which is only produced in custom runs. It is not usually available from supply houses.  Hammer weight is controlled and minimized as required by high leverage actions. If other hammer covering were used in the original, we will endeavor to recover with appropriate materials.
