Hand crafted replacements for obsolete Chickering piano parts

Replication of obsolete parts

Action parts for Chickering pianos are not in current production, and thus mostly not available from supply houses. This means we  replicate original parts as necessary. We have the machinery, appropriate stock of woods, and knowledge of the materials to reproduce parts of an action or indeed whole actions. It is common for us to reproduce the entire hammer shank set. These pre-1900 Chickering Pianos do not have the dreaded brass flanges turn of the century (1900-1910-sh) Chickering pianos have. While the pre-1900 flanges are indeed often brass, these style flanges are robust and of an entirely different design than the later turn of the century flanges. They are robust parts, maintain quite stable friction levels relative to wood flanges, and do not fail,.
